Sobre esta alfombra
Salt pans from the air: coral squares walled in, dark water. An afrag, in Amazigh, is an enclosure, and this checkered Berber runner sets a panel of checks inside a plain border. Weavers once fenced the field from memory. Zarbish makes it today.
The checker is three squares wide and runs the length beside a straight border, and the border is tied in a wool a shade deeper than the ground, so it reads as a rail. Each square is slightly taller than it is wide, which lengthens the runner further.
