A red rock arch at dusk, lavender light under it. Legzira is the beach the sea cut arches through, and this arched Berber round rug stacks them, one inside the next. Weavers once tied arches like these from memory alone. Zarbish makes one today.
The arches rise from a light band that runs straight across the circle, and below it the base is tied in upright stripes like the fluting of a column. The outermost arch reaches almost to the rim, so the curve of the design and the curve of the edge nearly agree.

La historia
Cómo se hizo Legzira
Legzira: un arco de roca roja al atardecer y, bajo él, una luz de lavanda. Es la playa donde el mar horadó arcos, y esta alfombra redonda bereber los encaja uno dentro de otro, hasta rozar el borde. Antes se anudaban arcos así de memoria, sin modelo delante. Hoy Zarbish fija esa figura en el círculo, y cada vuelta de lana sigue atándose a mano.
