Office Rugs

Size the rug so the chair stays on it when you push back, with the desk's front legs on the wool: a 5x8 ft for a single desk, in short pile for a rolling chair and a calm design for long hours.

Short, 0.4 in: casters roll across a dense, low weave instead of digging in. Shag is the worst case; the chair sticks and the spot flattens.

Generally not: casters catch and wind them. Leave them off in the work zone; on a rug under a reading chair in the same room, they soften the edge.
