About this rug
A band of painted tiles along a white wall. An arsa is an orchard garden, and the checkered Berber runner lays the beds out like those tiles: squares in rows. Weavers once laid out such beds by habit. Zarbish knots it today.
Two stepped squares and a smaller one between them run down the center, each framed in a warm line, and loose blotches in several tones wander along both sides. The pale ground is full, and the small dashes near the edges are single knots.
