About this rug
A band of painted tiles along a white wall. An arsa is an orchard garden, and the checkered Berber rug lays the beds out like those tiles: squares in rows. Weavers once laid out such beds by habit. Zarbish knots it today.
The frames around the squares are a softer wool than the squares themselves, so each bed reads as dense ground inside a soft hedge. Tiny dots in three tones sit in the channels, a knot each.
