Terrain

Terrain uses Beni Mrirt design lineage with patterns formed by raised wool and carved channels. Terrain designs have sculpted relief. We knot them in our own workshop in the Middle Atlas, to the same high knot density as every other collection, on our own looms.

Sculpted pile uses different wool heights to create a pattern in relief. Terrain combines raised areas with a clipped ground or carved channels. The height given for a photographed rug does not mean every part of its sculpted surface has the same height. You can choose short, medium, or shag pile when ordering.

Terrain brings relief to rooms where you want texture to lead. It can anchor a living room, soften a bedroom, or define a dining space or studio. Rugs, round rugs, and runners are available. Choose the individual palette and pattern to sit with your furniture, wood, linen, and stone.

The pile shown depends on the exact Terrain rug, colorway, and shape. Share the product link or photo so we can confirm its pictured height. You can order short pile, 0.4 in / 1 cm; medium, 0.8 in / 2 cm; or shag, 1.2 in / 3 cm. For a sculpted design, raised and clipped areas have different heights.

Our weavers knot every Terrain rug by hand in Morocco’s Middle Atlas, using 100% natural wool. A tightly knotted, high-density weave gives each piece its depth and substance.
