About this rug

A white cliff over the beach. The Skala is the sea wall of Essaouira, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt runner lays a stretch of it: blocks of wool at several heights. Weavers once tied the ground level. Zarbish cuts the masonry today.

Most blocks are pale, a few are warmer, and two deeper ones sit on one edge in the lower half like stones from another wall. The blocks differ in size and height, and the ground around them is flat and firm.
