About this rug

Snow-dusted terraces stepping down to a river valley. A hamada is the desert's stone plateau, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt runner lifts the same: raised blocks of pile over a clipped ground. Weavers once knotted the level ground. Zarbish raises the blocks today.

Three tracks of raised blocks step down the runner, each block a different length, over a clipped ground with narrow channels. The blocks are soft and the ground firm, and both are one pale tone.
