About this rug

Gray mud bricks drying beside a river. A hamada is the desert's stone plateau, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt runner lifts the same: raised blocks of pile over a clipped ground. Weavers once knotted the level ground. Zarbish raises the blocks today.

Most of the blocks are a deep heathered tone, and three pale ones run down the center track, so the runner is a path of light stones through dark. The clipped ground between is firm underfoot.
