About this rug

Snow-dusted terraces stepping down to a river valley. A hamada is the desert's stone plateau, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt round rug lifts the same: raised blocks of pile over a clipped ground. Weavers once knotted the level ground. Zarbish raises the blocks today.

The blocks have a faint warmth up close and sit in tracks the circle cuts short, leaving part blocks at the rim. The clipped ground between them is firm and even.

How we made Hamada
