No. On the rectangle and the round, soft-edged squares sit in a straight grid, each wrapped in a halo of warm color, with small dots in the gaps, so they read as glazed tiles with a worn finish. The runner is a different design, striped bands scattered with small mirrored marks.

Short 0.4 in (1 cm) pile keeps each halo and the small dots sharp. In medium 0.8 in (2 cm) and shag 1.2 in (3 cm) the wool moves, so the halos shift a little as light crosses them. In shag the dots soften and the squares become soft islands.

How do I keep Hammam looking fresh?

Small tiles hide crumbs and grit well, so weekly vacuuming with suction only does most of the work, and it also lifts the loose fiber new wool lets go of in its first weeks.
