About this rug

Tussock grass across an olive slope. Bejmat is the small floor tile of Fez, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt round rug makes that floor soft: raised squares over low lines. Weavers once laid the ground for it. Zarbish lays the tiles today.

A few blocks are a deeper tone than the rest, scattered through the grid without a pattern, and the circle trims the outer ones. The channels are pale and flat, the blocks soft and raised.
