How do I choose the right size and shape?

Size it to the furniture, not the floor: at least 18 in shows beyond the sides and foot of a bed, and under a dining table it runs 24 in (60 cm) past the edge. Tadla comes in three shapes, Classic, Round and Runner, in a standard size or a custom size priced as you type. The size guide has plans room by room.

What makes the Tadla grid different from a plain checkerboard?

The height. A plain checker is flat; here every square is carved by hand to its own small height above narrow flat channels, and the checker is irregular, so squares skip and drift instead of alternating strictly.

Is the high-low pile on Tadla done by hand?

Accepted Answer

Once Tadla is knotted in 100% natural wool, the pile is trimmed by hand into two levels, the knotting dense enough to keep the drop between them sharp.

Where does Tadla work best?

Accepted Answer

This rug is at its best in a living room, where its pattern gives a seating group a center. Any pile works there; shag is softest where people sit, medium is easiest to live with. It also suits a kids room.

What does the raised square grid feel like underfoot?

The squares stand above flat channels, so a hand finds their edges first. Pile sets how tall the raised wool stands: short 0.4 in (1 cm) gives crisp, shallow relief, medium 0.8 in (2 cm) a fuller block, shag 1.2 in (3 cm) deep, soft squares. Carved by hand, the squares differ slightly in height.

How do I clean a sculpted rug like Tadla?

Vacuum with suction only, along the relief as well as across it, so dust leaves the channels. Blot spills from the edge inward with cool water and never rub, which can flatten the raised wool. Some shedding in the first weeks is normal for new wool. The care guide has the rest.

Change any color to another of our 30 wool shades and the AI preview shows the new mood at once; the approved preview is the rug the weavers knot. It costs 10% more than the size's price and takes one extra week.
