About this rug

A banded rock dome, boulders at its foot. The Dades gorge folds layer over layer, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt runner takes the fold into wool: bands that swell and sink. Weavers once knotted the ground; the waves came after. Zarbish carves them now.

The runner mirrors itself end to end: ribbons at both ends, scalloped bands next, a deep wavy band at the center, every edge grooved. Walk it and the grooves come under your feet at even intervals.

How we made Dades
