About this rug

Strata tilted into parallel ribs. The Dades gorge is where rock folds, and this sculpted Beni Mrirt runner takes the fold into wool: bands that swell and sink across the field. Weavers once knotted the ground; the waves came after. Zarbish carves them today.

The center is a long soft field in one tone, and the ends are a warmer wool; at each change a raised ribbon marks the seam, with a groove on either side. The ribbons are the firmest parts of the runner.
