About this rug
A band of red on pink ground. Kermez is the checked cloth of the Rif, and the checkered Berber runner keeps the check to the edge: a band round a plain center. Weavers once tied the check by heart. Zarbish makes it now.
The open center has rounded corners, so the checker border is wider at the four corners than along the sides. The checks are tied in two tones with a clean edge between them, and the long sides run straight for the whole length.
