Taqa Checkered Moroccan Runner

Coral rock blocks stepping into a deep teal sea. A taqa is the small window in a thick wall, and this checkered Berber runner carries one: a dense field, a panel of checks. Weavers once cut the window from memory. Zarbish makes it today.

Two deep bands run the long edges like rails and hold the checker between them, and every so often a pair of short bars in another tone crosses a row. One square at the very middle is tied in the same deep wool as the rails, a knot you find by looking for it.
