About this rug
Whitewashed steps between a navy wall and bougainvillea. Zellige is the cut tile of Morocco, and this checkered Berber runner lays it in wool, each square a little its own, joins showing. Weavers once copied the walls around them. Zarbish knots it today.
A spine runs the length with cross arms at intervals, and stepped blocks hang off it on both sides like leaves on a stem. At each end a deep band rises into flame shapes, tied point by point, and a few small blocks in a brighter tone sit beside them.
