Taqa Round Checkered Moroccan Rug

Coral rock blocks stepping into a deep teal sea. A taqa is the small window in a thick wall, and this checkered Berber round rug carries one: a dense field, a panel of checks. Weavers once cut the window from memory. Zarbish makes it today.

The checker runs right to the narrow ring at the edge, so the squares along the rim are cut by the curve, and four deeper squares sit at the top, bottom and sides like the points of a compass. Down the center line a column of warmer squares runs through the grid.
