About this rug

A valley floor laid out in plots, yellow and green. Ammas is the Amazigh word for the middle, and this checkered Berber round rug counts from it: a column down the center. Weavers once began from the middle. Zarbish makes it now.

A ring runs around the circle in a soft tone, and inside it loose blotches drift across open ground, their edges jagged where the knots step out. The diamond cross at the center is the one tidy shape, its arms tied in a single deep wool.
