About this rug
A valley floor laid out in plots, yellow and green. Ammas is the Amazigh word for the middle, and this checkered Berber rug counts from it: a column down the center. Weavers once began from the middle. Zarbish makes it now.
The border is plain and full, its nap leaning toward one end so it reads lighter there. Inside, the blocks are tied in three tones that meet without a dividing line, and tiny flecks of a cooler wool sit at a few of the corners.
