Ronda Round Mosaic and Checkered Moroccan Rug

From above, a plateau dealt out in plots: brown, sand, gold. Ronda is the card game, and this checkered Berber round rug deals its blocks the same way, a new hand in every row. Weavers once played it from memory. Zarbish deals it today.

A band of checks runs straight across the middle, and small squiggles in two cooler tones wander over it, each one a different shape. Above and below, solid blocks sit on an open ground, and the ground is tied in the fullest wool, so it shows the lean of the wool most.
