Ronda Checkered Moroccan Runner

From above, a plateau dealt out in plots: brown, sand, gold. Ronda is the card game, and this checkered Berber runner deals its blocks the same way, a new hand in every row. Weavers once played it from memory. Zarbish deals it today.

Ten or so rows run the length, five blocks across, and each row changes the mix of tones, so the runner changes with every step. The blocks have soft edges that lean into each other, and flecks of a lighter wool sit inside the darker blocks like grain in wood.
