About this rug

A tortoise shell, camel plates with pale seams. A tamda is a mountain lake, and this diamond Beni Ourain round rug holds one: a deep diamond, a band of shore around it. Weavers once held lake and shore in memory. Zarbish makes it now.

The ground is a soft, mottled wool with warmer patches in it, and the center diamond is the darkest wool here, tied so tight it looks almost flat. The pale band between them carries the fullest pile.
