Where does a square rug look wrong?

In a long room, under a long sofa against a wall, a rectangular dining table or a bed: each has a long axis, and a square leaves bare corners. It suits a layout centered on a point. A circle suits some rooms better, and when to use a round rug says which.

On it, from every side: around a coffee table on an 8x8 ft, four chairs rest their front feet on the wool. Around a square dining table, the chairs sit fully on the rug, even pulled back.

Which patterns suit a square rug?

Is a square wool rug practical under a dining table?

Yes, with short pile, medium at most, so chairs slide and crumbs vacuum out. A patterned rug hides daily marks better than a pale solid; the care guide has the rest.

What if I need a 6x6 or 9x9 square?

Both are made to measure: a 6x6 ft is $847, and a 9x9 ft is priced on the same scale, with no surcharge.

What size square rug goes under a square dining table?

A table up to 36 in (90 cm) across sits on a 7x7, up to 48 in (120 cm) on an 8x8, and up to 72 in (185 cm) on a 10x10, each leaving the 24 in (60 cm) a pulled-back chair needs on every side.
