About this rug

An almond orchard in dusty-rose blossom. Aker is the tint of the souk, and this checkered Berber round rug is those presses: soft squares, each held by a dark mark. Weavers once pressed marks like these into wool. Zarbish makes it today.

Eight tufts circle a ninth at the center, and the outer ones are tilted so their caps angle outward with the curve. The tufts are longer wool than the field, and the binding sits just beyond the outermost caps.
