Round rugs

Big enough that the front legs of every seat around it rest on the wool, usually 6 to 9 ft around a round coffee table. The size guide gives a size for each layout.

Table diameter plus at least 48 in, so chairs stay on the rug when pulled out: most four-seat tables take a 7 or 8 ft round. A rectangular table wants a rectangular rug.

In a long, narrow room, under a rectangular table, or below a sofa pushed against a wall, where a circle fights straight lines. When to use a round rug goes room by room.
